Wayside Waifs is an awesome shelter that holds a yearly adoption event, in hopes that all of their animals will be adopted. The rescue is a fun loving place. They truly take care of their animals. During the adoption event, almost every single dog got adopted, except for one.
After the event, all of the employees were extremely happy that so many dogs found homes. Yet, at the same time, they felt awful for Kenny, a Pitbull Terrier mix who did not find a home.
Casey Waugh, a manager at Wayside Waifs, tells, “Kenny is a fun, friendly and happy dog, He’s definitely a people dog! Yesterday a volunteer took him on a field trip. The volunteer described him as ‘a dream.’”
Because the adorable dog did not get adopted, the team attempted to get Kenny’s name out there. Sadly, they could not hold another event, but they could post about Kenny on Facebook. So they wrote,
“Lest you think I’m all about exercise and being on the go, I’m also an affectionate dog who loves attention from you. I like to get my belly rubbed and I like to curl up next to you and cuddle. I also enjoy playing with toys and I can entertain myself with them if you’re busy with other stuff. I’ll make a really wonderful companion for you!”
The rescue added additional information regarding Kenny’s personality. Since Kenny is so energetic, he would be better suited without small children and other dogs around.
Thanks to Facebook, Kenny has found a lifelong home! The people at the shelter did an amazing job getting his name out there. Now his lives with a kind elderly woman.
