Most of us have seen beautiful wildlife photos. It may be a mother deer carefully escorting her twin fawns across a road. Or maybe it’s a bear walking across the beach at sunset. Well, this article is not about those kinds of photos. Instead, we are going to take a look at the lighter and funnier side of wildlife photography.
The Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards was co-founded by photographers Tom Sullam and Paul Joynson-Hicks MBE. The duo wanted to share an appreciation for the funny side of wildlife. On a serious note though, they want to also promote conservation through positive imagery. They partnered with The Born Free Foundation, which is a charity to help keep animals in wild places. The charity also promotes treating wildlife with compassion.
The Charity Hopes To Raise Awareness For Conservation Issues
The charity has three messages that they want to get across. First, they hope people will shop responsibly by looking at environmentally sound ingredients. Second, they hope that people will conserve water at home. Third, they hope that people will become a “wild influencer” by encouraging friends and family to vote for conservation issues. They also ask that people will talk about conservation issues on social media.
Here is a sampling of some of the images that have been received so far for the Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards for 2019. I can hardly wait to see all of the entries after seeing this small sampling!
Let’s All Do Our Part To Conserve Nature
Did these photos make you giggle out loud? If so make sure to share them with a friend. And remember that we all need to take part in taking care of wildlife and the environment. Conservation is a big part of doing this. If we all do our part, we can make a big difference to animals around the world.
